About Us:
The Brenda Strafford Foundation (BSF) is a charitable organization that currently owns and operates five Aging Care & Senior Living communities in Calgary, AB, and Okotoks, AB. We take pride in providing a safe, caring, and comfortable home environment that caters to the complex needs of our senior residents and families. Locally, in Calgary, BSF also operates Alberta’s largest second-stage shelter providing safe shelter and comprehensive support services to women and children leaving abuse and violence.

The Role:
Are you a visionary leader with a passion for compassionate care and team empowerment? Do you thrive in a mission-driven environment where innovation meets hospitality? We are seeking a dynamic Executive Director to lead our Cambridge Manor site.
The Executive Director is the senior site leader responsible for the overall success of operations, team development, resident experience, and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Strategic Leadership & Planning
Champion a culture of continuous improvement and resident-first care. Align site performance with BSF’s strategic direction and organizational goals.
Operations & Program Delivery
Oversee daily operations across all departments (care, hospitality, maintenance, dining, administration). Lead program development and ensure quality standards and compliance are consistently met.
People Leadership & Team Engagement
Inspire, mentor, and support a diverse multidisciplinary team. Promote a culture of collaboration, trust, and psychological safety. Lead performance development, coaching, and accountability practices. Collaborate with other Executive Directors and functional team members
Financial & Business Management
Manage operating budgets, identify efficiencies, and ensure financial sustainability. Lead and support new projects and initiatives that drive innovation and resident satisfaction.
Community & Stakeholder Relations
Foster strong partnerships with families, regulatory and oversight bodies, local stakeholders, and community leaders. Serve as the face of BSF within the local community.

Who We're Looking For:
Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Health Services, or related field required.

Registered Nurse (RN) or other professional clinical designation is a strong asset.

Minimum 10 years of progressive leadership experience, with proven ability to manage large facilities.

Experience in the seniors’ care or healthcare sector is required.

Demonstrated success in people leadership, budgeting, quality improvement, and change management.

Criminal Records Check required.
