About Us:
The Brenda Strafford Foundation (BSF) is a charitable organization that currently owns and operates five Aging Care & Senior Living communities in Calgary, AB, and Okotoks, AB. We take pride in providing a safe, caring, and comfortable home environment that caters to the complex needs of our senior residents and families. Locally, in Calgary, BSF also operates Alberta’s largest second-stage shelter providing safe shelter and comprehensive support services to women and children leaving abuse and violence.

The Role:
• Completing MDS assessments
• Creating resident/family - centred care plans
• Providing PCC Training to new staff
• Leading RAI MDS 2.0 AIS Competencies
• Supporting EHR initiatives

Who We're Looking For:
The MDS Coordinator must demonstrate:
• Commitment to confidentiality, professionalism and discretion;
• Superior organizational and time management skills;
• Leadership;
• Attentiveness to detail;Critical and analytical skills;
• Strong understanding of the RAI MDS 2.0, outcome scores, RUG III Plus/CMI and the 2nd Generation Quality Indicators;
• Advanced computer skills;
• Gerontology assessment skills;
• Strong interpersonal, oral and written skills;
Required education and experience:
• Either current active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA)
current active registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA).
• Canadian certification in Gerontological Nursing is an asset
• RAI Competency Certification is preferred
• Five years gerontology experience is preferred
• Previous leadership and teaching/mentoring experience
